The form five Interactors along with our teacher advisors Madam Norhayati and Madam Norhasliza had the privilege of visiting TWO old folks home on the 5th of January 2012. Upon gathering in school at 7.30a.m, we set off by bus to Elderly home and GT heritage home both situated in Petaling Jaya. The objective of the trip was to stir up the hearts of compassion within the Interactors as well as to interact with the elderly and make them feel loved and appreciated.
The Interactors split and some stayed in the Elderly home and the rest in GT Heritage. First of all, we set off to clean different areas around the homes with cloths and mops supplied by the staff working there. Next, we entertained the elderly with songs in the Malay, Chinese and English language that stirred up fond memories among some who joined in the song. Next, we served lunch to the elderly and the rest of our time there was spent talking to various ones who had many stories to share with us.
We left the old folks home with fond memories and great experiences that day. We also had the opportunity to bond among each other as well as our beloved teacher advisors :)
