Interact Club's 41st Annual Installation: Chassant Rêves

On the 18th of August 2015 (Tuesday), the Interact Club of WMSKL held it's 41st Annual Installation themed 'Chassant Rêves'. The event was held in the school chapel and we had the honour of having a few Rotarians as our guests-of-honour.

The event started off at 3:40pm. We sang the National Anthem 'Negaraku', followed by the Interact Song. We then had a roll call session acknowledging the guests, various clubs & societies and students from other schools who have joined us. Then, our guest-of-honour, Rotarian Wan Rasul gave his opening speech. Thank you for your constant support toward the Interact Club of WMSKL, sir!

Then, the Installation of the Form 4 Interactors and Incoming Board of Directors begun. Each Interactor was called out to receive their collar pins and name tags for the BODs. After that, we had our beloved principal, Mdm. Chia Loy Tian give her speech. It was refreshing and enlightening to have heard Madam speak. To not bore the audience, a short performance was presented by the Form 4 Interactors. Everyone clapped and sang along, it was a lively performance!

Next, the Presentation of Certificates to the Outgoing Interactors and Outgoing Board of Directors was held. The club acknowledged the efforts of the Form 5 Interactors by presenting them certificates, signaling appreciation. Special awards such as Best Interactor was awarded to Int. Cassandra Chia, Int. Chelsea Chew was given the Most Caring Interactor award, and even Interactors who frequently took their time out to visit the children from Pusat Bantuan Sentul (an ongoing community service project), were rewarded - Int. Tan Zhi Hao, Int. Vignash Selvam, Int. See Jia Min and Int. Lesley-Ann Yong. Then, the Incoming BODs were called again up front to receive the medals handed over by the Outgoing BODs. After that, the Incoming President for 2015/2016, Int. Kok Hanz gave his speech. His words spoke of truth, dedication and determination to run the club, salute, Pres!

Then, there was a short video presentation prepared by the Form 5s - a video compilation of all the events and memories they have been through together. Of course, behind a great club, there has to be an even greater president. We then had our Outgoing President, Int. Nikisya Toh, give her speech. She was so genuine and so bold, thank you for everything Niki!

To appreciate everyone's presence, the presentation of souvenirs was held after that. The guests-of-honour received a self-painted notebook each while handmade dream catchers were given to students and Interactors.

Everyone was then led to the canteen for some light refreshments prepared by the Interactors. Some of us left with heavy hearts, and others with new responsibilities.
