Kids Carnival 2016

On the 13th of August 2016, the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School organized our annual Kids Carnival which was held in the school. The main purpose of this event was for us to be able to contribute to society and allow Interactors to appreciate the priveleges and blessings they have in life. The Interactors arrived at school at 6.00 am sharp to decorate the school while waiting for the arrival of the kids. The school assembly ground was decorated with colorful balloons.

This year, the organising committee was made up of five junior Interactors, led by the organizing chairperson, Int. Naomi Lim, assisted by the assistant organizing chairperson, Int Jermaine Chok, as well as the secretary, treasurer and gamemaster, Int. Zhang Fay, Int Sharif Lew and Int. Lay Hao Yang respectively.

At 8.00am sharp, kids from several orphanages and schools arrived at school and registered themselves at the canteen. The kids were given a warm welcome as the Interactors played with the kids. At 8.30 am, the kids were brought to the assembly ground to start off the first event of the day, which was the Icebreakers. The kids played some interactive games such as "Blow Wind Blow" to get to know each other more. After that, the kids as well as the Interactors had to find for their group members, as they were separated into different groups such as Iron Man, Captain America and many more.

At around 9.15 am, some Interactors prepared dances, songs and magic shows to entertain the kids. The kids were overwhelmed with the performances and gave a big round of applause after the Interactors finished performing. The Interactors felt relieved when the kids enjoyed the performances as they had been preparing really hard for it.

At 10.00 am sharp, the kids were given a short briefing about their next activity which was Station Games. The kids were separated into different stations around the school and they played some educational games. The kids were really enjoying themselves and made many precious memories while playing those games.

After that, the kids were served with nasi lemak, chocolate milk, and apple pies for their refreshments.Their tummies must have had been satisfied with the delicious food served after playing those games. The kids proceded to take part in the creative session which allowed them to explore a new talent which ranged from sand art, making pencil holders from recyclable items, face painting and also making ninja balls. Some kids even enjoyed painting some of the Interactors' face.

At 1.00 pm, the prize ceremony was held at the canteen. The winners for the station games were announced and various prizes were given out. Hampers were also given to the orphanage homes and schools. Lastly the event ended with a group photo. It was a very memorable day for both the Interactors and for the kids who attended our annual Kids Carnival, and we hope that the kids will not forget the memories that they made.
