With
a goal to ‘Linking Hearts’ in mind, the Interact Club of Wesley Methodist School
held its 38th Annual Installation on the 28th of
August. The event was held at the school Chapel and the guests of
honour for the event were Rotarian PP Chan Kam Fatt, Rotarian Dato Jimmy Lim
and Rotarian Eric.
During the opening ceremony, every Interactor held a burning candle in
their hands which was replaced by a glowing heart. The Interactors then linked
their ‘hearts’ to the other with glow sticks to represent the theme of the year
2012/2013. Then, the Negaraku was sung followed by the Interact song. Madam
Chia, the school principal, then gave her speech followed by the Rotary Club of
KL Diraja president, Rotarian PP Chan Kam Fatt and finally ending with a speech
along with a presentation by the outgoing Interact President, New Wei
Jing.
The outgoing Form 5 Interactors were then presented with certificates to
commemorate their contribution to the club. Special awards such as ‘Best Interactor’
and ‘Dedicated and Caring Interactors’ were also presented to a few of the form
five Interactors.
Shortly after that, the incoming
interactors were installed followed by the changing of the Board of Directors.
Each predecessor gave a few words of wisdom and presented him/her with a
gift. The incoming president, Int. Ng Wen Yie then gave her speech.
The event ended with some light
refreshments served in the school canteen.
