Visit To Rumah Orang Tua Ampang

Two days right after school  started, the Form 5 Interactors paid a visit to Rumah Orang Tua Ampang on the 4th of January. We departed from school at 7a.m. and arrived at the old folk's home by 7.45 am. We received a warm welcome from the manager, where he briefly told us the usual activities of the residents in the old folk's home and their locations. Rumah Orang Tua Ampang consists of 60 elderly with both female and male residents, and was established in year 1953. Following that, the Interactors divided ourselves into several groups to visit and chat with the residents there. They were all a friendly bunch and conversations were made easily with each of the elderly.

This aunty has a never-fading smile on her face! :D

This uncle shared his story with us about his early years in Kuala Lumpur!

It was an eye-opening experience for all of us that went, as it taught us a lesson to always respect the elderly and also to take care of our parents, especially when they're at their older days. We hope to be able to visit them again, even though the time we had together was short.
